Adaptor Technology is a means by which an ad is presented to the consumer, the technology retrieves local data like weather, forecast, time, day, and zip code, to present the ad with much more relevant messaging. This messaging can not only showcase some of the products features for that weather, but can also to catch the consumers attention better because the ad is speaking to their concerns:
- “Will it rain tonight?”
- “Can I take the kids to soccer practice after school?”
- “Will the weekend be clear for our tailgating party?”
The ad dynamically adapts to the end users’ environment using a variety of technologies. Depending on the platform (cable, online, mobile, platform) a variety of changes can occur based on the end user’s condition.
Online, we’re able to do this because a visitor comes to our site to check weather in their area. We’re reporting on weather in that area, and can serve a flash ad to the page that can pull in that data and interpret in a way that can make a compelling message.
Most adaptors in this showcase are fully functional adaptors. By manipulating a variety of parameters, you can interact with the adaptor to see how it reacts:
We are able to do something similar on the mobile platforms. On cable, we do things a little differently but the end result can be similar.
